Severe Weather Threat Continues Across the Central U.S.; Critical Fire Weather Conditions in New Mexico

Severe thunderstorms will continue to be likely across the Central Plains into the Midwest on Monday. Thunderstorm development is also possible in portions of the Middle Mississippi Valley to Lower Michigan Monday afternoon. Much cooler temperatures across portions of Northern Nevada today, with most locations across Humboldt, Elko and Northern halves of Lander and Eureka counties 10-15 degrees cooler than Saturday. Weak instability across portions of eastern Nevada bring a 15-25% chance of light rain showers later this afternoon and tonight. Monday, a trough allows cooler temperatures to reach central Nevada. Increased instability over eastern Nevada will provide a 25-50% chance of light rain showers, and a 10-20% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening hours.
