Severe Weather Threat Continues Across the Central U.S.; Critical Fire Weather Conditions in New Mexico

Severe thunderstorms will continue to be likely across the Central Plains into the Midwest on Monday. Thunderstorm development is also possible in portions of the Middle Mississippi Valley to Lower Michigan Monday afternoon. Tightening pressure gradient will cause winds to continue to increase Sunday afternoon into evening. Wind gusts of 25 to around 40 mph is forecast along ridgelines and coastal headlands with even stronger winds across the waters. Gusts up to 25 mph will be possible for northwest to southeast oriented valleys. Winds will fluctuate slightly into the first half of the week.
